WHERE DOES YOUR MONEY GO?
Your money will go directly to support our Parks and Recreation Department. This could physical improvements to our parks or scholarships for children to be able to participate in camps, youth sports, or other programming. Here are some examples of what you can fund:
$30 pays for 2 Youth Program Participants (youth soccer, first tee golf, flag football, etc)
$50 buys Art Supplies for RIFAC Pre-School
$150 pays for 5 Youth Program Participants
$225 Sends 1 child to summer camp
$500 will purchase a small amenity in one of our city parks
$1000 buys an Expression Swing
$2500 buys New Signage for a Park

Repurpose old sport Court into parking lot at Lincoln Park
Resurface Water Slides at Whitewater Junction
Convert restroom at Webber Park into a small shelter
Purchase zero turn mowers
Replace roof on the bathhouse and concession stand at Whitewater Junction
Purchase a Mobile Concession Truck
Restore the Lower Pond at Longview Park
Refurbish pedestrian docks at Lake Potter
Tuckpointing at Hauberg Civic Center
Build a satellite concession hut at Whitewater Junction
Refurbish picnic shelters at all parks, replace roofs with metal roofing
HOW ELSE CAN I DONATE OR PARTICIPATE?
The Foundation is happy to accept more than just cash donations! You can help by volunteering on a committee, or donating equipment or supplies. Contact John Gripp (link to email), the Director of the Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department, to arrange a donation of physical goods.
